Philanthropist Kuan Chee Heng is hoping to inspire more Malaysians to help the poor, regardless of race or religion. Known affectionately to the poor as Uncle Kentang, the 56-year-old businessman came up with the idea of handing out potatoes a few years ago.
The founder of the Community Policing Malaysia (COPs) organisation and his team have team up with SEGA Events to organize a Kentang Charity Fun Run. The objective of this charity fun run is to raise money to buy a brand new ambulance to help more of those in need. Ambulance purchases are not easy. I believe the answer is a strong community partnership.
